Wouter Tulp Digital Painting Workout Day 1

 Today I did a values study first, from a distance it looks like I got the tones spot on, but most of the tones were slightly lighter than the original, including the background, which by comparison could have lead me to make the others lighter too, I did a pretty good job! 

The second task was finding the tones of the coloured blocks, this was much harder, and apart from 2 values, the rest I perceived to be significantly darker! I'll keep practising this one! 

Finally I used the reference photo to copy the tones. There are gradients, which made it harder, but without going into too much detail, I think I captured the values.
