Original sequence for Se7en to be recreated

This modules intention was to collaborate with a different student project, acting as 'Freelancers' for them. I am in 2nd year at Falmouth University Cornwall, studying Animation and VFX. Myself and two colleagues on Animation and VFX collaborated with 2nd year film students, for their editing module. Their task was to recreate a section of a film from scratch. They chose the title sequence from Se7en, which required our skills in animation and VFX to create aspects which couldn't be done live action. Such as the animated text and single frames of images (which is more under the classification of image creation and manipulation). Above is the original film sequence, to be recreated.
Below is the recreated sequence, and the last video shows my contributions to the project. This involved using a heavy amount of after effects and Photoshop. The result was very good, and the Film students were very happy with what we created. There was a smoother pipeline than many projects, because their wasn't any confusion in direction, because we just had to make something as similar as the original as possible, there wasn't room for misunderstanding this.

My personal show reel showing my contribution to the project

The work was exported to the Film students for editing, some with transparency because our work would be positioned on top of their live action. I created all of the text, for my team to work with, I also created the majority of stills which were used for just one single frame in photoshop. It's difficult to see because of the nature of this sequence and it's fast cuts. We did put a lot of attention to detail into this project, and it shows in the final work. A very successful project.
