Monty Walk 1

This was the next step in 3D after the ball and ball with tail. Making Monty walk. Starting mid walk to get straight to the walking motion, and learning that, skipping anticipation for now.
Frame 1 - contact, body down, feet down, one behind, one forward, front foot on heel, rear foot on toes and position knees, so the walk its dead unnaturally straight. Character should feel balanced in the walk. The front foot must pivot, not move. In the passing position the lifted foot should have no roll and never move the supporting foot!
I always feel excited and inspired after our 3D lessons. I have been trying to learn not to run before I can walk for a long time with art and design, I'm always too eager to see the finished product. I've learnt with illustration, really getting the concept and positioning of things right, and spending most of the time perfecting the initial sketches pays off so much in the end. Not leaving things to chance, leaves you with an end piece how you planned, and that you aren't disappointed with.
Exactly the same of course with the animation we are doing, I'm enjoying layering the action up, so the movement has a strong core!
Next I'm going to experiment doing some different walks and showing different emotions.
