Studies looking only at the model and using a continuous line, not looking at the page as you draw.

Short poses.

Capturing the pose with three lines.

Longer study, using black paper and chalk, to draw the light. 

We were told to make as many different textures, and different lines and marks as we could with the charcoal. To completely fill the page. Then after we would swap work with someone else, and draw into the new page finding shapes and making something from them. I saw some shapes that could be the centre of a flower and lots of lines spraying out which could have been grass and leaves.

I have done quite a bit of life drawing before, and I'm quite hit and miss, it takes a lot of concentration, I haven't done it for a while, so I'm looking forward to seeing some improvement, doing it every couple of weeks on the course.
